We encourage the exchange of scholars between Lebanon and various other countries and facilitate interactions between disciplines and scholars that would not otherwise meet. In 2002, we will be launching The Lebanese Studies Journal, a peer-reviewed electronic journal that aims to foster cutting edge work on Lebanon across academic fields. Furthermore, the LSA has newly established a Academic Freedom Committee that works to insure the academic and intellectual of freedom in regards to Lebanese Studies in and out of Lebanon. As an affiliated organization, LSA annual meetings are held in conjunction with the annual MESA conference.
